Objectives:
  • Review current case law, Kentucky and Federal for youthful offenders
  • Provide examples of motion practice and how the new law informs those motions for YOs
  • Collaborate on creative motion practice for YOs
  • Illustrate use of experts for adolescents in light of adolescent development and rehabilitative aspect of the Juvenile Code
  • Discuss strategies for different stages of the proceedings when is eligible for transfer
  • Review record collection practice for YOs
