Objectives

a.  To bring one another up to date with developments and events in our involuntary commitment and forced treatment practices.

b.  To acquaint any new mental health litigation practitioners with the basics of the art.

c.  To brainstorm the issue of how to protect our clients from the consequences of the “trust me, I’m a doctor” attitude. (I recommend reading the “Cautionary Statement for Forensic Use of DSM-5,” DSM-5 p. 25, before our session.)

d.  To brainstorm any other issue(s) mental health litigation practitioners want to brainstorm.
