Objective: The trial attorney will be instructed as to what to expect during a non-capital sentencing proceeding in front of the jury. Emphasis on applicable statutes, particularly PFO/Truth-In-Sentencing/Violent Offender statutes, as well as general admissibility issues, preserving the record and tactical and strategic decisions to be addressed both before and during the sentencing hearing.

Cicely Jaracz Lambert is an Assistant Appellate Defender with the Office of the Louisville Metro Public Defender.  Previous work experience includes the Kentucky Administrative Office of the Courts (Director and General Counsel); Kentucky Court of Appeals (Staff Attorney); Kentucky Attorney General (Assistant Attorney General, Criminal Appeals); and private practice (Lambert and Lambert).
